Over the past three decades, he served in various real estate corporate positions, in increasing responsible positions, with: KFC, Eckerd Drug Stores, Walgreen Drug stores, McCrory Variety stores, and Modern Woman Corp. These positions gave him in depth experience in retail site selection, negotiating leases, lease renewals, and sales throughout the US. He has located and negotiated warehouse properties for all companies for which he has worked.
As an expert in retail, he has negotiated over 1,500 new leases and innumerable lease extensions, amendments, and terminations.
With the sale of Modern Woman stores to Charming shoppes, he started his own brokerage company. Pfeifer Realty, specializing in representing national and regional retail tenants in locating, analyzing, and closing on sales of land and leases. In June 2016, he joined Landmark Commercial Realty.

In his brokerage capacity, his client portfolio included retailers such as Taco Bell, Panera Bread, Auto Zone and Dollar General and 7 Eleven developers in the Pennsylvania area. His extensive experience and network offered him the ability to present the detailed facts, provide analysis, suggest solutions or sites, and present all the opportunities available to each client. His method was, and is today, to provide honest feedback and let the clients make their own decision.
Ted has also provided consulting services to: Rite Aid, Fortress, and Steak N Shake, among others, in various aspects of real estate analysis, lease terminations and re-negotiation.
